A MAN is in a critical condition after being hit by a car in Camp Hill, in Brisbane’s southeast, this morning.

Police and ambulance crews attended the Boundary Road and Samuel Street scene about 7am to find the 40-year-old man had been hit by a car while crossing the road.

The man sustained head injuries and has been taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

Police are investigating the incident.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is an acquired brain injury (ABI) caused by physical damage to the brain, either as a result of a a blow to the head or by the brain impacting with the skull via a whiplash motion of the head. Bruising, bleeding, swelling, or tearing of brain tissue may occur. The head being forced to move rapidly forward or backward
